Disclaimer: They're not mine but they won't get outta my head! This is my first fic ever and would not quit looping in my mind until I wrote it out. *hides shamefully behind the couch*
Summary: Rose is going to throttle the Doctor. How can he disarm her?
*Tink*
*Tinktinktink*
*Tink*
Rose groaned and rolled over. *Clank*
She glanced at the clock on the nightstand. It read 2:19. Whether that was AM or PM was beyond her. All she knew was that she was bloody exhausted and sore. After a day of running frantically and randomly ducking into thorny hedges, she had come back to the TARDIS, poured herself a stiff drink, a bath and finally collapsed into the bed.
Of course, running for their lives had a decidedly different effect on the Doctor. He thrived off the thrill of the chase and was usually on that high for hours afterwards. So he had thrown himself into an enthusiastic round of jiggery-pokery while Rose was relaxing. Or trying to relax.
*CRASH*
"Ouch! Bugger!"
She rolled her eyes and flung the fluffiest pillow she could find over her head.
As silence seemed to settle around the TARDIS, she felt herself slowly start to slip into a heavy sleep.
A resounding *CLANG* jolted her out of the trance giving her the distinct sensation of free-falling for one disorienting second. She bolted upright to a sitting postion. Her eyes darted back to the clock.
2:46.
'Right,' she thought 'To hell with this.'
Her eyes narrowed and jaw set with determination, she marched purposefully towards the console room. Before reaching the entryway, she stopped, took a deep breath and set her shoulders back. Plastering a sweet smile on her face, she stepped through the threshold and looked around.
The Doctor was nowhere to be found. She walked all around the console to be certain.
*DING*
Her head shot up and looked back down the hallway. Now she was confused. What in the world was he working on if he wasn't in the console room?
"HA!" he exclaimed from somewhere.
She followed the series of small rattles and shuffles. As she approached the kitchen she saw a shadow moving back and forth through the soft light under the door. Pushing it open just far enough to peek through, she heard him mutter "Come on, come on." He was standing with his back to her, hunched over something on the table, fanning it with a kitchen towel. That's when it hit her. She inhaled deeply. The resulting sniffle sound caused him to jump and spin around, grinning manically.
Rose looked at him and then the table. "Is that..."
"Yup!"
He reached behind him and handed her a tall glass of milk.
He pointed to the rack of cooling chocolate chip cookies.
"Wanna help me? I fancied a midnight snack."
