I was appalled to read in The Army Times (http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/09/army_homeland_090708w/) that U.S. Army personnel are going to be assigned to vaguely defined domestic duties, including what sounds like what would normally be considered standard law enforcement activities, or National Guard duties.
It would never be appropriate to put regular Army troops on the ground in the United States, but the fact that this move is taking place in the weeks leading up to the national election is frankly disturbing in the extreme.
This would be an obvious and gross violation of the critical principles of the Posse Comitatus Act, and I would urge you to take action to keep this frightening move from taking place.
