Summary: He needed something to help him remember the good times

He stands in the shadow of the alley by the shop, waiting for them.
It had to be timed perfectly. It was dangerous enough to do this once. If he didn't get it right the first time, he could forget it entirely.
He heard before he saw. He looked across the street and it struck him. How obvious it had been. He had been right. She did know. She had to.
He jolted out of his haze long enough to reach in his pocket. With a click, it was done.
He taped it to the console. The TARDIS didn't mind.
